I can’t getover this animation, extremely beautiful and well timed. It’s like the way I see music sometimes, like shapes and images ( God knows I have no musicality whatsoever, this is the only way I can cope with my love for it and my over-enthu cutlet musician 2b)

Cheeming boey draws really well, I don’t think it would matter where he draws, with talent like that. Yet, he chooses to draw on Styrofoam cups. For what joy? completely stumps me. Check out the brilliantly wielded sharpie marks on the only Styrofoam cups I don’t feel like biting into.

this video is gorgeous, lush, spinning color riot. I love it, when i make a video it has to make people feel like this.

My friends tell me it’s scientifically proven that eating during an eclipse is bad for you in some way. I think it’s utterwubbish. But still I am willing to listen to reason if it really can be explained. I haven’t been able to find any trustworthy information online, so if anyone thinks they know anything I don’t please help me out here.

16th Jan 2009, 19.00-20.00
Switch off all your lights and electrical appliances on January 16th between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Just one hour.
Batti Bandh is a call to people, to ‘unplug’, not just for the day but also in their lifestyles to fight global warming
In December 2009 Mumbai, Hyderabad, Sikkim and Ahmedabad unpluged. This new year Bengaluru will unite and unplug to support this cause.
We ask you in Bengaluru, to unplug for a greener tomorrow, a better today. You will unplug to save the glaciers and to save the rainforests. You will unplug to save animals and the farmlands that feed you. I will unplug – to save you, to save India. One simple step – Unplug. Do it yourself, tell your family, friends and strangers. We need everyone to be a part of it, and we’re really counting on you.
In this symbolic gesture of protesting against global warming, we show that the way to combat it is simple, effective and also desperate. On the 16th of January 2010 from 7pm to 8pm, Bengaluru will unplug itself and show the world the way forward.
Global warming isn’t just global, it’s turning local. It’s come home, to India. It’s changing the way you live, and threatens our very existence. A year from now might be too late.
BATTI BANDH, BANGALORE
We intend to hold build-up events around the city, from the 9th to the 16th of January that will include:
• Flash plays
• Flash performances of music and singing
• Flash performances of dance
• Hula hooping
• Djembe performances
• Events at malls
• Posters in Schools & Colleges
• Using of Facebook & other social networking sites
Our final-day event on 16th January, would consist of the following:
1- At a select few central locations in Bengaluru, we will host an hour of music, dance and art, for people to attend, relax and experience the joy of community and the numerous ways one can have fun without using electricity, by being involved in community. The event must essentially be a small event, kept simple, such that people can connect with each other. The event will run on minimal electricity, keeping with the spirit of Batti Bandh. All performances lined up for the evening, will be unplugged, acoustic events. Events for the evening will include a capella singing, playing of acoustic music, shadow plays, beat boxing, a magic show and a play.
2- We are getting in touch with housing complexes, and asking them to host community events like Housie, Antakshari, a game of volleyball, a pot luck dinner, story-telling and other community activities, in the one hour of Batti Bandh.
3- We are also getting in touch with restaurants, and asking them to hold an LED or CFL powered evening, with acoustic music.
4- Malls are dimming their lights for us, in the process of confirmation.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:
INDIVIDUALS: We need you. We need Community Volunteers, to take up this event in their respective neighborhoods, schools, colleges and work places. We need you to help us organize this event, by being coordinators all over the city.
Also, you could easily viral this by just inviting your friends to this event, over the internet. Spread the word, stop the littering, say no to plastic… save electricity. Stop anything. Change everything. Basically, do the world.
COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS: Would you like to organize a programme in your school or college for BBB? Teacher, student, administrative staff, whoever you are, do let us know.
ARTISTS: All forms- singers, songwriters, magicians, jugglers, poi, LED artists, dancers, rappers, beat boxers, drummers, guitarists, actors, mimes– Come on over. You have got the people’s attention, you make reaching out to everyone really easy- an acoustic gig, a little word to fellow artists, a free or dedicated event or even a word thrown in during any of your presentations or performances would really up the noise and speed the change process.
NGOs: You know you can help, and we know you want to as well, meaning half job done. Please help.
CORPORATE PARTICIPATION: Any group or corporate pledging to switch off on Jan 16th as well as taking active steps in spreading awareness about the climate crisis please stand up and stand out. Email us your logo and we’d be happy to add it to all our material as support.
If there is anything more you would like to do, in terms of partnership or sponsorship, do give us a shout.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT. GIVE US A CALL OR SHOOT US AN EMAIL IF YOU WANT TO VOLUNTEER OR HELP OUT IN ANY WAY.
